violence
Strong violence includes a character being shot with a harpoon, a stabbing, men hit in the face and over the head with glass objects, and a man's head being slammed onto a table. Although these moments lack strong detail, there are bloody aftermath images, including blood spewing from a character's mouth as they die. Milder violence includes fistfights.
threat and horror
Small children are abducted from their houses and off the street by sinister-looking men, and are taken to a laboratory. Although their treatment in captivity is not abusive or overtly violent, the children demonstrate fear and distress. An older child, bound with ropes, falls into a river and faces drowning, but there is a reassuring outcome. There is also gun and knife threat, as well as disturbing images, such as sight of oversized babies suspended in glass tanks filled with liquid as part of a scientific experiment.
nudity
There is sight of breast nudity as strippers run in panic after rats are let loose in a strip club.
additional issues
There is moderate bad language ('bitch'), as well as milder terms such as 'bastard', 'shit' and 'damn'. There are infrequent moderate sex references. There is brief sight of a man smoking from an opium pipe.
