THE CALL is a thriller starring Halle Berry as a 911 emergency call operator who tries to help a young woman escape the kidnapper who holds her captive.

THE CALL is a thriller starring Halle Berry as a 911 emergency call operator who tries to help a young woman escape the kidnapper who holds her captive.

violence
There are also several scenes of bloody violence, including a man being stabbed in the stomach with a screwdriver, and sight of a scalpel cutting into a woman’s forehead. A man also receives a cut to the face with a scalpel and is later stabbed in the back with some scissors. These moments are brief and do not dwell on the infliction of injury.
threat and horror
There is significant and sustained threat to the kidnapped woman throughout much of the film, as she is at first terrified by thoughts of what her captor has planned for her, and is then directly and physically threatened by him. The woman is offered some comfort by the 911 operator helping her and there is never any sexual threat.
language
There is occasional use of strong language ('f**k' and 'motherf**ker').
additional issues
The film also contains some verbal references to suicides, rapes and murders as several 911 calls are heard. There are also moderate sex references, including a girl joking that a boy wants to ‘bone’ her, and another asking her boyfriend if what he wants to do to her is ‘even legal’.
