TGS ENTERTAINMENT LIMITED
Cuts:
The distributor chose to make cuts to scenes of drug misuse, as well as strong sex references, in order to achieve their preferred category of 12A. Cuts were made in accordance with BBFC Guidelines and policy. An uncut 15 classification was available.
violence
Fight scenes and beatings feature crunchy kicks, punches, headbutts, arm breaks, neck breaks and use of bladed weapons, occasionally resulting in moderate bloody detail. A man is repeatedly struck with a metal tool. Another man punches a woman in the face, leaving her nose slightly bloodied, when she breaks off their engagement.
threat and horror
There are scenes of moderate threat involving gunfire, car chases, and the abduction of frightened women by human traffickers. In another scene a villain threatens a man by sending him a video of his male friend, naked and distressed, being taunted by henchmen; the scene is short, however, and the victim’s nudity is blurred out.
language
There is infrequent use of strong language (‘f**k’) and implied strong language (e.g. ‘eff you’), Milder terms include 'bitch', 'thevadiya magani', 'lawad kebaal', ‘shit’, ‘bullshit’, ‘bloody’, ‘bastard’, ‘God’, ‘moron’, ‘jerk’, ‘butt’, ‘damn’, ‘hell’, ‘lunatic’ and ‘imbecile’, in addition to use of the ‘middle finger’ gesture.
sex
A moderate sex scene shows an underwear-clad couple embracing on a bed and briefly rolling around under the covers together, followed by a shot of the woman throwing her head back in pleasure. Moderate sex references include ones to ‘banging’, pornography, condoms and Viagra.
discrimination
Various characters use the term ‘kammanati’ as an insult. There are also occasional mild scenes of sexist behaviour, which is clearly criticised.
drugs
A woman is briefly shown smoking joints.
injury detail
There is occasional moderate sight of blood on people’s faces and clothing in the aftermath of violence. A comic scene shows a man unsuccessfully attempting to use face ID to unlock his phone after a punch leaves his face bloodied and swollen.
suicide and self-harm
A person repeatedly attempts suicide, without strong visual detail. He then berates himself for not having the ‘courage’ to go through with it, and deliberately provokes a group of men into beating him up. However, soon after these events he experiences a change of heart and no longer wishes to take his own life.
sexual violence and sexual threat
Short scenes of threat show women being abducted by dangerous criminals who, it is implied but never explicitly stated, mean to sell them into sexual slavery. A man makes a vaguely worded sexual threat against another man’s sister. There is also an undetailed comic reference to a hotel owner spying on couples via CCTV.
rude humour
A person is shown throwing up.
flashing/flickering lights
This work contains flashing images which may affect viewers who are susceptible to photosensitive epilepsy.
