This film was originally shown to the BBFC in an unfinished version. The BBFC advised the company that the film was likely to receive an '18' classification but that the requested '15' certificate could be achieved by reducing the level of gore visible in five scenes (sight of a man's mutilated face, sight of a man's heart being pulled out of his chest, sight of a man's jaw being dislocated and hanging off, sight of a man's head being smashed against the floor, and sight of a man's face being torn off). When the finished version of the film was submitted, the five scenes had been sufficiently reduced by cuts and visual darkening and the film was classified '15'.
