violence
There are frequent sequences of mild violence, such as shootings. After walls are purposefully knocked down by soldiers, rubble falls on top of men, killing them. Injury detail is minimal, however.
threat and horror
Characters are led out to be publicly hanged. A man is threatened at knife point and there are scenes of gun threat throughout.
discrimination
Visual and verbal references are made to slavery and there is a mention of the use of violence against slaves. There is use of the racist term 'negro' in a historical context. Black families are seen scared and hiding in a barn after being smuggled out of the Southern states.
A man dies in hospital after being shot and is seen with very mild injuries on his face. There are infrequent, very mild sex references. Characters smoke and drink alcohol.
