JUDEX is a twelve-part French crime thriller film from 1916 in which a victim of a corrupt banker's crimes seeks vengeance on the man, only to fall in love with his daughter.

A man attempts to end his life in a scene that includes the brief sight of bloody detail. In another scene, it is implied that a man has shot himself off screen.

There are scenes of threat when characters are kidnapped. In one scene a woman is wrapped in a blanket and thrown over a bridge and into a river. In another scene two kidnappers stand near an unconscious woman and consider killing her using a pair of shears. Later a child is bundled into a blanket and kidnapped. There is also a scene in which a man becomes sexually suggestive towards a vulnerable woman; however she quickly slaps him and walks away. The film features very mild bad language ('damn'). There are scenes of very mild violence, including undetailed shootouts. A child smokes a cigarette, but is quickly told off by an adult.
