JODOROWSKY'S DUNE is a documentary about the career of Alejandro Jodorowsky and his unrealised dream of making a film adaptation of Frank Herbert's Dune.

sex
In one scene Jodorowsky describes the conception of a character as portrayed in a storyboard. He says, "She changes the blood into semen and we see the blood going inside the vagina and the uterus. She became pregnant with a drop of blood". In a later scene, describing how he approached Herbert's novel for his proposed film adaptation, Jodorowsky says, "If you respect the woman you will never have a child...You need to rape the bride. I was raping Frank Herbert, raping like that".
drugs
A collaborator in the project recalls how, when he first met Jodorowsky, they smoked 'special marijuana' together. There is also a passing and undetailed reference to LSD users.
additional issues
There are some comic book-like storyboard images of violence. These include the dismemberment and decapitation of one character, and the implied throat cutting, with a knife, of another. A black and white clip from one of Jodorowsky's early films includes brief female breast nudity. There is also some mild bad language, including uses of 'crapping', 'hell', 'Jesus', 'pissing off' and 'shit'.
