Scenes of gunfire feature occasional blood spurts. A man is repeatedly struck on the head and is subsequently shown lying dead in a pool of blood. Other people are struck with arrows or bladed weapons. Dead and injured people are scalped following a massacre, with gory aftermath images of the bloody scalps. In another scene a man strikes his romantic partner across the face.

Prolonged scenes of threat include ones in which Apache warriors raid a white settler camp and massacre the occupants, including families.

Bad language includes ‘bitch’, ‘shit’, ‘bastard’, ‘ass’, ‘piss’, ‘Goddamn’, ‘hell’ and ‘Jesus Christ’.
sex
Over the course of a sustained scene, a clothed woman straddles a man and moves her hand between their bodies in masked fashion before thrusting on top of him. There are occasional moderate sex references, including non-graphic references to sex work.
discrimination
Occasional scenes of racism include a racially-motivated massacre of a Native American village. A group of white men attempt to goad a white boy into shooting an unarmed Native American man and his child in reprisal for the deaths of his own family, who were killed by Apache warriors. In another scene, a white man speaks in derogatory fashion to a Mexican man, addressing him as ‘mulatto’. The film as a whole clearly criticises racist attitudes and behaviour.
sexual violence and sexual threat
A woman discovers two men watching her while she bathes. The men are subsequently reprimanded for their behaviour but remain unrepentant.
injury detail
There are bloody images of severed scalps. We also see dead bodies in the aftermath of violence, such as a corpse lying in a pool of blood and the body of a child with moderate bloody detail on his face and clothing.
nudity
Brief breast nudity occurs when a woman partially undresses to bathe and finds herself observed by a pair of men.
theme
There are upsetting scenes of bereavement in which people mourn dead loved-ones, including parents and children.
