HIGHER LEARNING is a US drama centring on racial tension in an American college.

sexual violence and sexual threat
A woman asks a man to put on a condom when they are about to have sex, but he proceeds despite her protests, holding her down as she screams and desperately tries to escape.
A gang is seen attacking couples because of their race or sexuality, pushing people to the ground and beating them. Discriminatory terms (‘n****r’, ‘faggot’, ‘queer’, ‘coon’, 'negro') are used, however the film as a whole condemns discrimination. There is use of strong language (‘motherf**ker’, ‘f**k’) as well as reclaimed use of racial language (‘n***a’), and use of milder terms including ‘bitch’, ‘pussy’, ‘dickhead’, ‘shit’, ‘fricking’, ‘ass’, and ‘bullshit’. After a person is shot, they are seen gargling and spitting blood, which also covers their clothes. Two men are held at gunpoint by a third, who taunts them with racist abuse. A man is seen rolling a marijuana joint which he then smokes. A person takes their own life off-screen, using a gun. People are shot with guns, and there are fight sequences in which crunchy punches and kicks are traded between foes. There are infrequent moderate sex references.
