There are several darkly comic scenes in which fantasy creatures are killed. These include a gremlin being beheaded so that its head flies into a fireplace where it is burnt, a gremlin being liquidised in a kitchen blender, a gremlin exploding in a microwave, and a gremlin melting and decomposing. In one scene a teenage boy is also shot in the arm with a crossbow bolt and in another scene a woman's malfunctioning stair lift flings her out of a window.
