violence
Characters are hung by their wrists from chains and beaten; most of these blows land off screen. We see water and hot tea being poured over prisoners trapped in a cage. There are shoot outs in which people are shot, resulting in occasional small spurts of blood. A man is left with moderate bloody injuries over his face and body in the aftermath of a gun attack leading to a car crash. Characters slap, punch and shove one another, sometimes in slapstick scenes.
threat and horror
Characters are threatened with torture and execution by hanging; there are scenes of gun threat. A man is briefly trapped in a building that is shelled. A man pushes another's face into the water of a swimming pool, threatening to drown him.
language
There is infrequent implied strong language ('f**k') along with milder terms such as 'shit', 'bastard', 'ass', 'sons of bitches', 'screw', 'God', 'damn', 'hell' and 'Jesus'.
suicide and self-harm
A man accidentally takes another character's cyanide suicide pill, but his life is saved.
sexual violence and sexual threat
There are references to a man appearing in a film titled 'The Great Rapist'; we see footage from this fictional film in which there is undetailed verbal mention of women being raped.
theme
A woman says she once experienced depression. Characters grieve for lost loved ones in scenes of emotional upset.
