Klimt's fixation on female sexuality is described as being an impetus to his art, as illustrated in a series of eroticised drawings of women which led to accusations that he was a pornographer. Examples of artistic female and male nudity appear throughout the film. An academic interprets aspects of 'The Kiss' as representing male sexual domination over women.
