violence
There are strong and upsetting verbal references to brutal acts of violence committed by men against their female partners, as well as moderate visual detail of life-changing injuries resulting from these attacks. We see footage of real violence, including gunfire and explosions during the 2016 Turkish coup d'état attempt, with sight of people carrying a man with blood on his face, and a sequence in which a terrorist bomb suddenly explodes near a protest. There is also sight of a woman being violently restrained by police.
discrimination
There are frequent references to gender-based violence and femicide, as well as infrequent non-graphic verbal references to child marriage and rape. Men are heard making misogynistic statements about feminism and women’s rights. There are also infrequent references to a disabled woman having been “belittled” in court when giving her testimony.
additional issues
Other issues include infrequent moderate sex references.
