People are shot, stabbed, or slashed with blades, resulting in blood spurts and brief sight of severed limbs. Milder scenes depict crunchy comic fist fights and beatings. A person physically attacks a close relative, resulting in their accidental death.

Racist mobs are shown attending anti-Chinese rallies, and smashing and burning Chinese-owned businesses. White characters use racist invective associating Chinese immigrants with cannibalism, disease and poor hygiene. There is also use of discriminatory terms such as ’vermin’, ‘pig tail’, ‘chinaman’, ‘savage’, ‘monkey’ and ‘yellow peril’. Such attitudes and behaviour are strongly criticised by other characters.

A villain facing arrest chooses to die by suicide instead. Another person forces other people's cooperation by threatening to shoot himself.

Grisly crime scene images include corpses with gory wounds, and buckets containing human internal organs. A suicide results in brief bloody detail. Flashbacks fleetingly show a serial killer cutting into the abdomens of dead women.
