ASKING FOR IT is a US thriller in which a small town waitress joins a gang of female vigilantes who seek justice against perpetrators of misogynistic violence.

violence
A shoot-out sequence features several blood spurts, and a man is stabbed in the neck during a short knife fight. A verbal reference to an off-screen beheading is illustrated by a brief close-up image of a bloody axe. There is a short scene of domestic abuse in which a man pins a woman by her throat and throws her to the ground while verbally abusing her, but other women quickly come to her defence.
language
There is infrequent use of very strong language (‘c**t’) and more frequent use of strong language (‘f**k’, ‘motherf**ker’, ‘c**ksucker’). Milder terms include ‘cock’, ‘ho’, ‘bitch’, ‘whore’, ‘ass’, ‘asshole’, ‘titties’, ‘balls’, ‘shit’ and ‘bullshit’, in addition to use of the ‘middle finger’ gesture.
discrimination
There are scenes of misogynistic behaviour, gender-based violence and racism. A white man refers to a woman as a ‘Black c**t’, and other sequences feature use of discriminatory terms such as ‘spic’, ‘faggot’, ‘pansy’, and ‘libtard’. Discrimination is not condoned.
sexual violence and sexual threat
We see a series of fragmented flashback images which strongly imply that a woman was raped by her male friend, but there is no graphic visual detail. The flashbacks are intercut with brief sight of the woman finding a small amount of blood on the toilet paper she’s just used. In another short scene a woman tases a man unconscious and fastens a strap-on dildo to herself, implying that she intends to rape him; however, another woman immediately intervenes. A man takes two woman captive and threatens to ‘have some fun’ with them before selling them into sexual slavery, but they are soon rescued. There are also occasional strong verbal and visual references to sexual violence.
additional issues
There are brief and infrequent sequences of breast nudity, as well as occasional moderate sex references. People are shown smoking joints.
