Greek myths have never been far from the big screen.

Last year saw the release of Tarsem Singh’s Immortals and this month sees the release of Wrath of the Titans, a sequel to 2010′sClash of the Titans.

The film came to the BBFC for classification in 1981 however the board’s involvement with the film actually began several years prior to this, when the script was sent in for guidance as to how the filmmakers might secure a U certificate.  This correspondence is available to download below along with the examiner report from 1981.  Despite this early exchange, two cuts were required when the film was initially released (although these were restored in subsequent years) and it was classified ‘A’.
