A WOMAN'S LIFE is a French drama in which a noblewoman struggles through life in 19th century Normandy.

Sex

As a woman loses her virginity, there is implied penetration and a suggestion of movement as a man lies on top of her. During sex, the woman looks to be in some discomfort.

There are also very mild references to sex, including to illicit affairs.

Injury detail

Dead bodies are briefly seen with bloody bullet wounds.

It is implied that a woman is raped when she says, "He kissed me. And then it happened, whenever he wanted".

There are also passing references to suicide, with a man threatening to "blast my brains" and a brief reference to a man having hanged himself.

There is mild bad language ('bastard').
