LET THE RIGHT ONE IN tells the story of Oskar, a youngster in Stockholm. He is being bullied at school. One evening, he meets Eli, the otherworldly 12-year old who lives in the apartment next door to him. Eli has a dark secret and, as Oskar discovers her true identity, he draws strength from her and tackles the thugs who are making his life unpleasant.

The film was classified at '15' for strong bloody violence. There are several scenes of violence, including one where three boys are eviscerated. The camera is obscured at the time, and as such much of the action relies upon implication, but, nevertheless, we see a severed arm and head and then the aftermath of the attack with the boys laid out, bloodied. The BBFC's guidelines at 12A state that "violence must not dwell on detail" and "there should no emphasis on injuries or blood." The film features plenty of bloody moments, some of which are shocking, and there are passages where there is clear focus on the aftermath of the attacks.

The film also features strong language.
