THE LADY IN THE VAN is a drama, based on real events, about a vagrant who the playwright Alan Bennett allowed to park her van in his driveway, where she lived for fifteen years.

Language

There is infrequent strong language ('f**k') and moderate bad language ('bitch'). There are also uses of milder bad language ('piss hole', 'bloody', 'sodding', 'Jesus', 'Christ', 'God').

There are undetailed images of a road accident with brief sight of bloody injury, as well as mild sex references and innuendo. The film also touches on issues of mental health and death.
