Note: The following text may contain spoilers

THE ICE KING is a documentary about Olympic figure skater John Curry.

Sex

There are discreet references to BDSM when John Curry's boyfriend is described as having 'liked things rough'. An old photograph shows a man wearing leather and holding chains. There is no further detail or reference to this.

Discrimination

The documentary presents some outdated attitudes to homosexuality, such as archive footage of a man encouraging children to fight being 'queer'. The film as a whole does not endorse this homophobic attitude.

There is a verbal reference to a man having taken his own life, however no further detail is given. There are also references to a man suffering from depression.
