THE GUERNSEY LITERARY AND POTATO PEEL PIE SOCIETY is a period drama in which an author visits a Channel Island book club, established during the German occupation.

Injury detail

In the aftermath of the bombing of the island, a man clutches his bloody head, and figures lie beneath bloodstained sheets.

Sex

An islander angrily criticises another for sleeping with a German soldier, calling her a 'jerrybag' and a 'slut'.

An islander hits another's head off a pub bar. A man breaks a pint glass and brandishes the broken edge, but does not use it. A prisoner is beaten with a rifle.

There is use of mild bad language such as 'bloody', 'bugger' and 'sod'.

There are references to Nazi forced labour and concentration camps.

There are references to miscarriage.

An adult tells a young girl that her mother has died
