GOOK is a drama in which Korean American brothers try to protect their shoe store during the 1992 Los Angeles Riots.

Language

There is frequent strong language ('motherf**ker' and 'f**k). Other terms used include 'bitch', 'bastard', 'bullshit', 'shit' and 'ass'.

Threat

There is sustained threat when two men are told that other men are on their way to rob their store. In one scene an 11-year-old girl's abusive brother throws a glass bottle against a wall and screams at her. He then drags her from her bedroom as she cries.

In one scene a Korean American man finds the word 'gook' written in spray paint on his car. In another scene an African American man calls a Korean American man a 'nigger'. The film does not endorse discriminatory behaviour.
