BEN HUR is an epic drama in which a wealthy Jewish man is forced into slavery after the accidental death of a Roman official, but is determined to overcome his hardships to be reunited with his family.

Violence

There are occasional scenes of moderate violence, including a chariot race in which participants are trampled by horses or dragged through the sand, although no gory detail is shown. In the aftermath of the race, a character is seen with a bloodied face and body.

There are also scenes of slavery, including sight of blood around characters' wrists and ankles from their shackles, and characters being whipped by their overseers.

There is occasional sight of characters with physical deformities derived from leprosy.
