THE BAD LIEUTENANT - PORT OF CALL: NEW ORLEANS is a US thriller about a corrupt policeman who becomes addicted to prescription and illegal drugs.

Drugs

The protagonist indulges in a range of prescription and illegal drugs, with frequent scenes of cocaine, heroin and marijuana use. These are sometimes presented as comic or glamorised.

Sex

A scene of strong sex/sexualised violence occurs in which the protagonist steals a couple's cocaine at gun point, while the woman either allows herself to be sexually molested by him or acquiesces to his orders out of fear.

Language

There is infrequent use of very strong language ('c**t'), including a use directed at an elderly woman in a nursing home. Frequent use of strong language ('f**k', 'motherf**ker') and occasional racist language ('nigger') also appears.

There are occasional scenes of strong violence, including sight of characters being shot.
